EVO ICL Cost in Korea: 2026 EVO & EVO+ Visian Lens Prices

How much does EVO ICL cost in Korea?

EVO ICL in Seoul costs about ₩4 million to ₩6.5 million for both eyes, approximately $2,900 to $4,700, for a non-toric EVO or EVO+ Visian lens. Toric EVO lenses for astigmatism add about ₩1 million, for roughly ₩5 million to ₩7.5 million for both eyes.

This page focuses on the lens itself: which EVO model you are quoted, and how that changes the price. For the general ICL picture, including stay length and other phakic lenses, see our main ICL cost in Korea page.

EVO lens option Price (KRW) Approx. price (USD) Corrects
EVO / EVO+ Visian ICL, both eyes ₩4,000,000–₩6,500,000 $2,900–$4,700 Myopia
EVO / EVO+ Visian Toric ICL, both eyes About ₩5,000,000–₩7,500,000 $3,600–$5,500 Myopia with astigmatism

USD figures are approximate at roughly ₩1,350–₩1,400 per dollar. Some clinics quote per eye, so ask whether your quote is per eye or for both eyes, and whether foreign patients pay the same price.

What is the difference between EVO and EVO+?

Both are STAAR Surgical Visian Implantable Collamer Lenses with a central port; EVO+ is the newer version of the family. The US FDA approval in March 2022 covered both “EVO/EVO+” lenses, in non-toric (EVO ICL) and toric (EVO TICL) forms.

The central port (marketed as AquaPORT in Korea) lets fluid flow through the lens, which is why most patients no longer need a laser iridotomy before surgery. STAAR announced in 2022 that more than two million Visian ICLs had been sold worldwide, over 1.5 million of them EVO lenses, in more than 75 countries. Korean ophthalmologists note that quotes differ by whether the lens is toric and which EVO+ model is used, so ask your clinic to name the exact lens on your quote.

How much more does a toric EVO lens cost?

The toric version usually adds about ₩1 million for both eyes in Korea, for a total of about ₩5M–₩7.5M. It costs more because each toric lens is custom-made with built-in cylinder and must be aligned to your astigmatism axis during surgery.

In the US, UCLA's price list shows the same pattern: $6,663 per eye for a standard ICL and $7,013 for a toric ICL. For more on alignment and rotation, read the toric ICL cost guide and the toric ICL treatment guide.

What's included in an EVO ICL package?

Most Seoul clinics quote EVO ICL as a package covering tests, the lens and early aftercare.

  • Pre-op tests: anterior chamber depth, endothelial cell count, eye pressure, white-to-white and refraction
  • Lens sizing and ordering of your EVO/EVO+ lens
  • Surgery on one or both eyes
  • Post-op eye drops and protective eyewear
  • Follow-ups, typically next day, next week and one month

Confirm whether a lens exchange is covered if the size turns out wrong (vault too high or low). See the ICL surgery guide for how sizing works.

What changes the price of EVO ICL?

The lens model and the clinic matter most; your exact prescription matters less.

Factor Lower price Higher price
Lens model Non-toric EVO EVO+ toric
Eyes Both eyes in one package One eye only
Clinic Smaller clinics Large Gangnam ICL centers
Promotions Event pricing (near the low end of the ₩4M–₩6.5M range) List price
Lens availability Lens in stock Custom order needed

Is EVO ICL worth the cost compared with laser surgery?

EVO ICL costs about two to three times the price of LASIK in Korea, but it can treat eyes that laser surgery cannot. It suits high myopia and thin corneas because no corneal tissue is removed, and the lens can be taken out.

If you are a candidate for both, compare total costs with LASIK cost in Korea and read ICL vs LASIK and ICL vs SMILE.

What are the risks of EVO ICL?

EVO ICL is surgery inside the eye. Risks include raised eye pressure, glare and halos, lens sizing problems that need a lens exchange, cataract and, rarely, infection. The FDA labeling excludes patients under 21, pregnant or nursing patients, and people with moderate to severe glaucoma or unsuitable eye anatomy. Have a full exam and follow your ophthalmologist's advice.

What should I ask about the EVO lens on my quote?

Ask the clinic to spell out exactly which lens you are paying for and what happens if it needs changing. Two EVO quotes at the same price can cover quite different things.

  • Model: EVO or EVO+, toric or non-toric
  • Size: how lens size is chosen, and the target vault (gap between lens and natural lens)
  • Exchange: whether a lens exchange is included if the vault is too high or too low
  • Ordering: whether your lens is in stock or must be ordered, and how long that takes
  • Both eyes: whether eyes are done the same day or on separate days
  • Records: a written record of lens model, power, size and serial details for your home eye doctor

Also ask what endothelial cell count the clinic requires and how often it should be checked after surgery. Long-term monitoring of the cornea's endothelium is part of ICL care, and you will probably do it at home.

Finally, compare the total trip cost, not just the lens price. ICL usually needs a longer stay than LASIK, so hotel nights can add several hundred dollars. Our ICL cost: Korea vs USA page shows when the saving is worth the trip.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much is EVO ICL in Korea?

About ₩4 million to ₩6.5 million for both eyes for a non-toric EVO or EVO+ lens, approximately $2,900–$4,700. Toric lenses cost about ₩1 million more (₩5M–₩7.5M).

Is EVO+ more expensive than EVO?

Korean ophthalmologists say quotes vary by EVO+ model and toric design. Ask the clinic to name the exact lens on your written quote.

Is the price per eye or for both eyes?

Our ₩4M–₩6.5M range is for both eyes. Some clinics quote per eye, and some prices reflect promotions, so compare quotes on the same basis.

Do I need a laser iridotomy before EVO ICL?

Usually not. The EVO lens has a central port that lets fluid flow through it, which removes the need for iridotomy in most patients.

Can an EVO ICL be removed?

Yes. The lens can be removed or exchanged, for example if sizing is wrong, though any further surgery carries its own risks and cost.
